Meet the Pastor
My name is Joe Crandall and the lovely lady by my side in the picture is my wife, Linda. I was born in San Angelo, Texas, and accepted Jesus Christ as my savior at the age of 13. My father was unsaved, but my mother was a devout Christian. My dad accepted the Lord when I was 14, and he vowed to serve God more than he had ever served Satan.Led by the Lord, my dad formed a southern gospel quartet called "The Gospel Heirs," and then later was called as an ordained minister. I was called by the Lord to sing the tenor for the quartet, and did so for 30 years. God used The Gospel Heirs ministry to see countless souls saved.
I worked at Harris Corporation in Palm Bay, Florida, where I met my wife, Linda. Originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, Linda, like myself, had moved to Florida as a child. We fell in love and were married November 19, 1983. Linda was also called by God to serve in The Gospel Heirs.
My dad passed away Memorial Day of 1994 and in 2003 God called me to preach His word. God told Linda that I would be the new pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Grant, Florida. I didn't know why, but the following Sunday we strangely found ourselves going to church at Calvary Baptist in Grant. As Linda and I approached the church walking along the sidewalk, God spoke to me and told me that this is where I would preach. Little did I know that the pulpit committee was looking for a pastor. I was ordained and started attending seminary.
I have been pastor at Calvary Baptist since 2004. A while back God revealed to me in a dream that our church would be totally remodeled and a new sanctuary would be built. I am pleased to announce that we now have plans to do just that. We would like to invite you to come and grow with us.
